FDI FRANCE MEDICAL, based east of the city of Lyon, was created in 1990, and in 1995 became a specialised developer and manufacturer of innovative Walking Aids. We design, manufacture and market a range of “State of the Art” Walking Aids, focusing on safety and comfort for the user. FDI has invested in innovative design and materials to bring to the market Walking Aids that are adaptable to the specific requirements of the individual user, contain many features for safety and comfort, and benefit from a modern and ergonomic design.

We control all steps of the manufacturing process, from R&D, design, industrialisation to production. This gives us the flexibility to respond quickly to customer requests, and stay ahead of the competition through innovation and a cost efficient production process.

Thanks to our efforts to continuously improve the comfort and quality aspects of our products, the company has acquired a strong position in the French market, becoming one of the main suppliers of elbow crutches to the pharmacies and other health professionals.

Based on this success in the French market, FDI has embarked on a major programme to develop its business in the international market through partnerships with specialised distributors which have the appropriate sales and support organisation to assure optimal service to the customer. So far we have established distribution partnerships in over 40 countries around the world.

We are committed to continue our investment in further innovations with unique products that will relieve some of the burden and pain of people with limited mobility. A demonstration of this commitment is the recent launch of the next generation elbow crutch, the ERGODYNAMIC. With its integrated shock absorbing system, this new product will revolutionise the concept of comfort.
